Twisted Fairytales - Performance Opportunity with Piccolo Spoleto
Twisted Fairytales- What if everything you thought you knew about fairytales wasn’t true?
To be performed as a part of the historic Piccolo Spoleto Festival in 2026
Performers ages 7-15 are welcome!
Where:
Rehearsals will take place at the St. Julian Devine Community Center at 1 Cooper Street Charleston, SC 29403
Performances and dress rehearsal will take place on stage at the Cannon Street Arts Center at 134 Cannon Street Charleston, SC 29403
When:
Rehearsals will run after school from 4-6 PM, May 21 through June 1, excluding Sundays and Memorial Day
Dress rehearsal 4-6 PM June 2, at Cannon Street Arts Center
Performances June 3 and 4 at 7:30 PM
Auditions:
As this is a very condensed rehearsal process, we will be requesting audition materials submitted by video recording.
More audition information will be in an email to follow.
Cost:
The total cost is $300 per performer.*

Musical Theatre Intensive: Shrek, Jr. (Full Day, 2 weeks)
Come and discover your creative potential through musical theater. We will sing, dance, and act our way through this week-long session. Students will practice scene work, choreograph their own Broadway-style dance, practice storytelling through song, and much more. Come one, come all! All levels of experience are welcome.
Musical Theatre Dance Intensive at Camp Cyclone (Full Day)
Have you ever wondered how that one person onstage shines even when they don't say a word? In this full-day camp, students will practice the art of stage presence and up their skills by dancing in an ensemble and mastering choreography while staying in character. Over the course of the week, we will learn all of the ensemble dances in a Broadway Musical, complete with a showcase performance on the final day.
Spotlight Kids: Theater Games and Improv, Camp Cyclone
Step into the spotlight with Spotlight Kids: Theatre Games and Improv, where creativity is about to take center stage! This week, campers will learn the importance of self-confidence, teamwork, and creative thinking in the theater through hilarious games, improvisational exercises, and group activities. Come one, come all, no prior theater experience is necessary.
Note: Student performances will be recorded at the end of the week in place of a live performance.
Ages 7-10
Time: 1 pm - 4 pm

Lights, camera, action! Spotlight Kids with Miss Simone returns for another fun-filled adventure on the stage! Campers will sing, dance, and act on stage in a short musical about Superheroes and their hidden special talents. This Spotlight Kids performance features group-spoken lines, lots of teamwork, and chances for campers to showcase their individual talents, too - perfect for performers of any comfort level on the stage!

Welcome to the whimsical world of "Character, Comic, and Cartoon Drawing" camp – a magical journey for aspiring young artists! Campers will use graphite, charcoal, colored pencils, and markers to compose their creations. Campers will dream and draw up their own characters complete with emotion, costume, and settings; draw, write, and color comic strips, and work together to create a cartoon version of our summer camp classroom. No drawing or art experience is necessary, all levels are welcome!

Choreography Creations at Camp Cyclone
Level up with Choreography Creations. It’s time for your movers and dancers to put on their creative hats and make their own dances and dance moves. Miss Simone will lead campers through mind-mapping their dance ideas and introducing them to new choreographic devices and dance types. From there, they will work in small groups to create their very own special dance performance.
Ages 8-12
Time: 1 pm - 4 pm

Dance Party! with Miss Simone is the perfect camp for your movers and shakers. Campers will be learning short dances, playing movement games, and creating their own choreography to perform in groups for a fun-filled final showcase with friends.
